There is a saying in “Friends”: Lovers come and go in life, but friends are always friends. Although we cannot predict the future, we can be sure that there will be a place for each other in our future. Even if we are not together often, we are still good friends.
I still remember that when I was in school, I watched some of “Friends” intermittently in order to learn English. Most of them were blind listening clips, so except for the names of the leading actors, I almost forgot everything else. Recently, I rewatched it. It is hard to imagine that 30 years have passed since the first season was broadcast, but the language, concepts, costumes, etc. in the play are not outdated.
Imperfect individuals but perfect friendship. Monica is hardworking and capable, but also strong and even obsessive. Rachel is smart and beautiful, but spoiled and even a little selfish. Phoebe is kind, versatile, but also weird and even neurotic. Chandler is humorous, loyal, capable, but timid and even socially anxious. Joey is handsome and considerate, but obviously stupid. Emily over-controls Ross, and the old friends will not ignore it, but advise her honestly. When Joey pursues Rachel, he first considers Ross’s feelings. In another episode, Joey’s girlfriend chose to break up because she couldn’t get along with her friends. No matter which old friend, when they are seriously in love, they will consult and seriously consider the opinions of their friends.
You can make trouble at ordinary times, but there must be something. In order to ease the embarrassment, Rachel lied that her boss wanted to buy her child. When I was a child, I didn’t understand “it’s enough to have one confidant in life”, and I thought I could have many friends. But gradually I found that the older I get, the lonelier I am.
